Brief Report of the Event:

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CS&E) at JITD, in collaboration with the Women's Cell, organized a Women's Self-Defense class for the female students of institution The event aimed to empower the students with practical self-defense techniques and martial arts skills. he inclusion of Martial Arts in these maneuvers not only offered a holistic approach to self-defense but also allowed participants to develop a well-rounded set of physical and mental skills. These techniques are designed to empower female students, enabling them to defend themselves effectively in various situations. The emphasis goes beyond physicality, fostering self-confidence and a heightened sense of security. Dr. Mouneshachari S, Professor, and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CS&E), graced the event as the presiding officer. His presence not only added a sense of authority but also underscored the department’s commitment to equipping its students with practical and valuable life skills. The coordination of the event was skillfully overseen by Prof. H S Saraswathi from the Department of CS&E. Her efforts ensured the smooth execution of the workshop, creating a positive and engaging learning environment where participants could actively learn and practice these self-defense techniques. This comprehensive approach to women's self-defense not only addressed various potential threats but also empowered the participants with the knowledge and confidence to navigate and overcome challenging situations effectively. Dr. Shukla Shetty, Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBG) at JJM Medical College, Davangere, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was presided over by eminent individuals, including Dr. Madukeshwara N, Dean Academics a, Prof. H S Saraswathi, Chairperson CICC at JITD, Mrs. Savita M, the Event Coordinator, and Ms. Anu M S, Student Coordinator at CICC . In addition to the insightful addresses by the dignitaries, the celebration featured a poster presentation by students on the theme of women empowerment. The posters, designed and presented by enthusiastic students, showcased their perspectives on the challenges faced by women and the strategies for empowerment.

Dr. Shukla Shetty's address focused on women's physical and mental well-being, enriching the audience with valuable insights from the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The session, held on 11th May 2023, featured Dr. Prakash M Walavalkar, Dean of the Training and Placement Cell, as the distinguished resource person. The event, attended by all women staff members of JIT, aimed to shed light on the importance of financial literacy and the role it plays in empowering women. Dr. Ganesh D B, Principal and Director of JITD, urged the staff to actively participate and glean valuable insights from the session, emphasizing the significance of savings for women. Dr. Prakash M Walavalkar commenced the session by providing comprehensive information on various aspects of financial awareness, with a particular focus on savings and mutual funds. Women helping women is a powerful and uplifting concept that revolves around the idea of women supporting and empowering each other in various aspects of life. Dr. Shivakumar M V started the session by encouraging words. He also added collaborative effort by women’s is rooted in solidarity, mutual understanding, and the recognition of shared challenges and opportunities. Whether it's in the professional realm, personal development, or social advocacy, women helping women emphasizes the importance of fostering a supportive community. Dr. Shivakumar M V later spoke about how movement encourages mentorship, skill-sharing, and the creation of networks that enable women to navigate and overcome obstacles together. By providing a platform for women to women to share experiences, offer guidance, and celebrate achievements, women helping women strives to break down barriers and promote gender equality. He also added that women should recognizes the strength that comes from unity and challenges the notion of competition, fostering an environment where women can thrive collectively. Brief Report of the Event:

The women's cell held a Rangoli competition on March 9, 2020, This event included participation from female students. The women's cell emphasized that Rangoli is meant to welcome Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and good fortune, and symbolizes the joy, optimism, and vibrancy of a household. Students created vibrant, colorful, and exquisite Rangoli patterns, and many of the female students learned new Rangoli designs. The evening was quite lively and ended with the winners of the prizes being announced.

The institution recently hosted a dynamic discussion on Women Empowerment, bringing together key stakeholders and experts in the field. Dr. Shashikala, Head of the Pathology Department at SS Hospital, Davangere, and other committee members were present to chart a course for the Women Empowerment Cell's initiatives at institute.Key Highlights of session Empowering Sessions for Girl Students: The committee unanimously decided to conduct awareness sessions for all girl students every two months. These sessions aim to cover a broad spectrum of topics, including career guidance, personal development, health and societal issues. Collaboration for Impact: Recognizing the value of diverse perspectives, the committee emphasized collaboration with external experts, industry professionals, and alumni who can contribute valuable insights during these sessions. Resource Allocation: To ensure the success of these awareness sessions, resources will be allocated for materials, guest speaker invitations, and logistical requirements. Feedback Mechanism: A robust feedback mechanism will be established to continually evaluate the impact of the awareness sessions, allowing for adjustments and improvements in subsequent events. The committee is geared up to finalize the schedule, identify potential guest speakers, allocate resources, and develop promotional materials. Brief Report of the Event:

Mrs. Meghana G R , Assistant Professor ,Department CS&E, gave a welcome address before the program began. The resource person gave a speech to the audience about mental health. He made it clear that the main obstacles to the advancement of mental health development are the stigma and taboo around mental illness. He went on to say that it is good to take steps to alter this perspective. Here, new content is incorporated in inventive ways to bring about change. After that, Mrs.Meghana G R elaborated tale of depression. She told her story—which was quite interesting—of being diagnosed with depression at the age of ten, accepting the diagnosis, and going through the healing process. Students received further explanations on the feelings that were experienced both during and after the depressive episode. The resource person concluded the discussion with a list of Dos and Don’ts for managing depressed patients. The audience asked questions throughout the session's last section. The resource person provided insightful answers to the questions. With a thank you note for the considerate opportunity, the presentation came to an end. Thanking the resource person, for his time and bravely and engrossingly sharing the narrative. The purpose of the workshop was to encourage students to have candid conversations about mental health and to seek help without holding back when needed. The goal was successfully achieved, and the criticism was considered in light of that.

Brief Report of the Event:

students participated in a series of time management workshops. The activity-based workshop was followed by a concept briefing. The resource person began the session by going over the guidelines for the activities. Considering the size of the class, groups consisting of at least seven people were formed. From each group, one person was chosen to serve as a teacher. The teachers were switched throughout the groups to keep an eye on the points for the assigned tasks.

The screen showed the ensuing tasks together with their respective points.

  • Make a circle of the space.
  • Make a hat or tie for the instructor to wear. (10 points; extra 5 points if the teacher dons it)
  • Discover something special about every team member. (5 points)
  • Join in on a song. (20 points)
  • Construct a paper airplane and launch it across the room. (10 points)
  • Have each person sign a single piece of paper in the room. (5 points)
  • Determine how many animals your group owns. (10 points)
  • Give every member of the team a nickname. (5 points)
  • Make name cards for every member of the team.
  • member. (5 points; using your team nicknames earns you an additional 5 points)

The participants are not required to adhere to any rules in order to complete the activities; however, they are able to allocate marks using either "0" or all of the assigned marks. Exchange of marks was not permitted. The teams were given twenty minutes to finish the tasks. There were motion restrictions in the classroom. For the entire twenty minutes, the students were allowed to unwind completely. After 20 minutes, the combined. The resource person tallies the scores for each team. The team with the highest score is seen to be the most adept at managing their time. The resource person described the steps involved in the activities in the second portion of the session. centred on time management abilities such as prioritizing, creating goals, making decisions based on self-awareness and motivation, planning, confronting and probing, delegating and outsourcing, Coping mechanisms, patience, and stress reduction.
