CHEMISTRY LAB

Layout and Equipment: The lab is divided into different sections based on the type of experiments and the equipment required. It includes areas for general chemistry experiments, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and specialized research work. The lab is equipped with:

Safety Equipment: This includes fire extinguishers, first aid kits, eye wash stations, and safety showers to ensure the safety of students and researchers.

Basic Equipment: Bunsen burners, glassware (beakers, flasks, test tubes), balances, pipettes, and spatulas.

Advanced Equipment: Conventional Microwave oven, UV Chamber, Digital Melting Point Apparatus, Magnetic Stirrers, Hot Air Oven, Spectrophotometers, chromatography equipment.

Safety Protocols: The lab follows strict safety protocols to ensure the well-being of everyone present. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, safety goggles, and gloves. Proper disposal of chemicals and waste is also emphasized.

Experiment Procedures: Each experiment is accompanied by detailed procedures outlining the steps to be followed, including the use of specific chemicals and equipment. Safety precautions, observations, and data recording methods are also included in the procedures.

Maintenance and Calibration: Regular maintenance and calibration of equipment are carried out to ensure their proper functioning and accuracy of results. This includes checking gas lines, cleaning glassware, and calibrating instruments.

Record Keeping: Detailed records of experiments, observations, and results are maintained for future reference and analysis. This includes data sheets, lab reports, and experimental logs.

Accessibility: The lab is accessible to students, researchers, and faculty members for conducting experiments, research work, and teaching purposes. Prior booking may be required for certain equipment or experiments.

Conclusion: The chemistry lab is a vital facility for conducting practical experiments and research in the field of chemistry. It provides students and researchers with hands-on experience and contributes to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
